Description
Vintage set of wooden statues.
The statues are made of a mustard yellow type of wood, probably cedar, and stand on a base of dark brown wood. The statues are hand-carved with a great degree of detail.
Depicted are a Hindu goddess and god: Lakshmi (goddess of wealth, fortune, power, beauty, fertility and prosperity) and Vishnu (the protector of the universe and the earth). Both are standing on a lotus flower.

Approx. 1960s?
The statues are in good used condition: Vishnu has damage to the big toe (see photo 4); a crack or scratch on the belly and some paint or varnish residue; and a piece is missing at the back above the shoulder (see photo 9). Furthermore, both are beautiful.
